Game Jams

A design experiment exploring how a single level can support both top-down navigation and platforming mechanics within the same space.
Players control Ollie as he navigates a strange maze where gravity behaves in unexpected ways. By activating specific tiles, the gameplay shifts between a top-down perspective and a platforming mode, allowing Ollie to walk on walls and ceilings.
Because both modes share the same layout, players must reinterpret the environment and rethink their path to progress. The same space can take on entirely different meanings depending on the gameplay mode: a simple object in the correct position can become a crucial platform, an open doorway can turn into a gap, and previously unreachable paths can be accessed by shifting gravity, challenging players to reinterpret space rather than simply traverse it.
Originally developed during GBJAM 2017, the project focuses on how level design and player perception can work together to create layered gameplay experiences.
